I solemnly swear…

In a big step forward for the new Serimin community, all 70 families and soon-to-be-new-house-owners gathered at Thai Peace Foundation to officially sign contracts of ownership.

For this community group, who have been in the process of home ownership for years (forming a co-op, buying land, governmental hoops and red tape, etc.), this is now small feat.  Some families traveled from Kalasin province, 12 hours away, in order to take part.

Led by Sombat, Phetiphat, officer from the government agency, Community Organizations Development Institute (http://www.codi.or.th/) and organized by TPF staff, Kaew Ariso, thus begins the first step to sustainable home ownership.

Next up on the docket, CODI will hold a series of trainings on money management, long-term home ownership, and community building beginning at the end of the month.
