Kanat Primary School in Sisaket

Kanat School in Sisaket from H. Michelle Kao on Vimeo.

Santisuk has had a long history with the Kanat Village in Sisaket.  One of our key staff, Jin, was born and raised in Kanat and has had the opportunity to bring many visitors home.  It is impossible to not fall in love with this warm, little, Khmer-speaking village.  In October 2009, Santisuk organized a team of 25 people from Bangkok to rebuild Jin’s aging parents’ home and distribute donations to Kanat’s residents.  In March, we’ll return to Kanat to serve this village and its citizens in a wider way.

This school recently received its first English language teacher 2 months ago.  To encourage the students and teachers of Kanat, we’ll host a week-long English camp and support good education in rural Thailand in whatever other ways we’re able (bookshelves, paint, sports equipment, etc.).
